Speaker Sizes

New Maxima owner here, I am a little confused about speaker sizes for a 96 Max. I went to my usual place to see what size speakers these cars have (Crutchfield), and they say it has 6 3/4" speakers on the rear deck. Having never seen this size before, I went out to my new baby, popped open the trunk, and saw what REALLY looks like 6x9's. Am I wrong here, or do the 4th gen Bose Maximas really have 6x9's in the rear? I can't find anything about it on the net or in a previous post.

Also, are the fronts 6 3/4"?

Thanks in advance...

6.75" are slightly larger version of 6.5"... They're listed by Crutchfield on their catalogs (printed and online)... just search their sight for the the model you'd like. The Maxima will take the "Normal" 6.5" just fine.

Rears are also same size... unless you cut it bigger.

K, here's the skinny on my speakers(couldn't wait till after work ). Some doofus(dufus?) that owned the car before me DID put 6x9's in there, by cutting the sheetmetal and drilling holes in the rear deck. Have to reexamin the situation a lil now.

PS. sorry, I found the Car Audio section AFTER I posted this

yeah, well these aren't JUST 6x9's, either... Think special edition radioshack variety. This is aggravating after having my beautifully sounding Infinity mains & R/F subs in my deceased Altima ...

that sucks, you could always make a adaptor or order one like I had in my 626... since my 626 took 6x8 I made a peice of wood 6x8 and cut a 6 1/2 hole in the middle, worked perfect!!! You can order them from www.sounddomain.com I think I seen them there.. Get rid of those radio shacks! :P
