Double headunit hook up

Double headunit hook up
I just last year took out my Pioneer Premier p525 Tape deck and installed the Pioneer p6400 CD player. I still currently have my taped deck and was thinking of selling it. But I havea thought. Could I actually install and wire my tape deck up along with my cd player and have both work in my car. I have a double din in my car below my p6400 is the factory equalizer that I never needed or use. Could I actually wire them up together to work? How can that work?

If the Cd player has an input, you could connect the power wires up to the cassette deck and use the RCA outs to connect to the input of the CD. If the cassette player doesn't have RCAs, you could do a line-level converter. If the CD player doesn't have a input, you could buy a FM modulator. In other words, you could find a way.

Ooooh I forgot about the rca out puts? Ok, now that I have faith. Another Question. I have an amp thats connected to the cd player rca output so how would that work. It has two I believe but it said for fronts I know I have two on the tape deck too. About the power if I connect it up to the power wires if I turn on the Cdplayer would the tape deck come on too?

Yes, if you hook the power wires together, then both will go on and off with the ignition. Alternatively, if you want to be able to power off the CD reciever and have the tape deck go off too, then you can put a relay on the power to the tape deck and trigger it with the remote turn-on from the CD reciever.

So it would be safe to say. Get a short RCA cable and hook it from the Tape Deck and hook it up to the other rca output of the cd player and the Power wires up as well? Im just trying to make sure I dont mess anything up. Ive never done a process like this before.

However, I just looked it up, and you do not have an auxilary input. You will need to buy one of these:
these to hook it up. You can get a better price than that, just shop around.

Gotcha My cd changer ip bus connector is hooked up to the cd player but I can just connect that into the tape deck and put the tape deck input into the ip bus of the cd player. Thanks guys
