on front doors of 1998 Max.
Some places haveit at 2 3/4". Has anyone put 3" deep drivers in?

I want to get some Image Dynamics but i don't know if I'll have to use a spacer and if that will cause the front of the speaker to hit the door panel.

I just put a pair of memphis audio components in my 98. When you take out the bose speaker and amplifier, take out the entire black peice that they both mount into. When you get that out, just cut open the back of the plastic and you should have enough room, mine were 3 and a half inches in depth, and they fit perfectly.

 

It took 2 pieces of particle board trim rings I made to hold my Kappa Perfects. Savages are damn deep. You can add at least 1.5" with no problem.

 

Thanks guys, 1.5" really? also foodog226 no Bose in my car. Made things easier. Has anyone deadened the plastic speaker frame?
