Stock Radio

I am new to Maximas and I wanted to know if anyone has had luck in keeping their stock [not Bose ] head unit and using amps and speakers to enhance the sound. I live in a high crime area and I prefer to keep the car stock looking. I also hear that Maximas are notorious for subwoofer rattles. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Stock Radio

The stock radio is a reasonably good unit. I replaced all four door speakers and the A-pillar tweeters with Infinity Reference Series and added a Basslink to the trunk. Looks totally stock but sounds totally great. I don't believe the stock radio has preamp outputs so any additional amps would have to be run off the speaker outputs.
