RF 24kt gold terminals...

Hey org members! I bought some Rockford Fosgate 24kt gold terminals for my 8AWG wire running to my amp, and I cant figure out how to crimp them There isnt a break in the metal like normal solderless connectors that allows you to crimp it. They are completely solid and when I put the wire in the terminal it can slip right out. Should I maybe just use some heat shrink tubing so it will hold the wire in there? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are there any set screws to tighten the wire down?

No, unfortunately there arent. Thats why I say that they are completely solid all the way around where the wire goes in.

Got a pic? Maybe we can get a better idea if we see what you see.

Use either a hammer or a vise grip. Both are great crimping tools.

You can still use a crimper, depending which one you have. Other wise a flathead and a hammer will also work.

But you should crimp and solder. The solder alone would be a brittle connection likely to come loose.

solder isnt a brittle connection that breaks easily. it is the best for transfer of electrons.
