Hi,

Just curious as to where people have put their radar detectors for a more stealth location (besides the top of the dash or the windshield). Does moving it away a window degrade its ability to detect (such as underneath the dash- I assume it would)?

If you have a standard stick on the window detector, you need to have line of site to detect radar. I have a stealth installed detector that I put the front sensor in the gap beside my front tag, and the rear sensor is flused in above the rear tag. I put the control/display in the pocket with the door. I live in Va, and detectors are illegal. So don't tell anyone.

 

Yea you can't mount it not on a window. Heres where I mounted my V1...it's pretty stealth. You can barely see it from outside the car.

Thanks for the pointers! Now how did you mount it up there? I have a Bel detector (bout the same sizes as others ones) which is smaller than the V1 in the pics. Thanks for all the help.
