i actually have 4 infiniti 12 perfects but only two in my trunk. i was looking to add the other 2 but am leaning toward just having 2 b/c i am very pleased with the sound. i was thinking of installing the other 2 on the outside edges of the trunk (one behind each taillight facing each other) that was the best place i could think of without losing too much trunk space b/c the 2 already in my trunk face towards the trunk.

i have 4 tens, two in my trunk and two sitting in my closet collecting dust.
4 tens in a trunk a bit overkill, unless you're doing some dB drag or have money to kill

I just installed 4 Kicker 10's in my friends 96 max...No pics yet. I did the tens firing forward into the ski hole, and did a false floor for the amps across the floor behind them. there is just enough room to wedge the box in between the inner fenders if you stagger the subs up and down as they go across. I think there was 38 inches or something, but it pounds with the 1600 watt PPI amp pushing them. If you are in Northern Virginia area send me a message, I am doing a lot of installs on the side. I've been doing it for 12 years.

If you got the money to get 4 subs why don't you just get two 12s and an 18. I know someone with that setup and it sounds better than anything else I've ever heard. That way you can make the subs emphasis the frequency range that they shine in.

I havn't heard a 4 sub system but it I don't think it would sound better than the 2 12 1 18 setup.

I had 3 of the Diamond Audio MacDaddy 10s for about 4 years and now I switched to 2 of the TDX 12s. The TDX subs are amazing, but those 3 10s could throw down with the best of them.

funny you mention that setup. when i had my eclipse, i had a similiar setup. i had 2 kicker solobaric 8's and 1 jl audio w6 15. it sounded damn good but took away all my trunk space.

Mixing and matching different sized subs sometimes sounds OK but they don't meter very well. They create phase problems in the car, and are usually about 3-4 db lower than they sound. Just something to think about if you want to compete. I have run about 25 DB contests in the last couple of years and I have never given the trophy to a car with different sized subs.

This is true.. With an old system I ran 2 - 12" woofers and 1 - 10" and it hit about 3db less then when I was running just the 12's.. Seemed almost as if my 10" was canceling waves that the 12's were producing..

when i had the 2 8's and 1 15 it sounded really good. real clean. i had crossover and used 8's for midbass. from my eq i could turn off my 15 and just run the 8's and it sounded great. when i would turn on 15, it just plain kicked ***.

You may want to consider using these four subs in a loaded box, i.e. push-pull, back-back, or tunnel loaded configuration. You can save space and still make use of all four speakers.

There are some good resources on the net and in bookstores for building such enclosures.

Hope this helps,
