Alpine AUX inputs dont work! PLEASE HELP!

Alpine AUX inputs dont work! PLEASE HELP!

I got an Alpine CDA-9815 and Redmax screen from 96shogunmax here, and after plugging everything in a few times, the AUX inputs are all static. The weird part is if i put the balance all the way to the left, there is no sound. Otherwise, XBOX or DVD player sound is only heard at high volumes and surrounded by static. Seller says it worked for him and no one seems to have any suggestions. Ive tried plugging in a few different units that i know work, and video is ok, Ive tried plugging the units into my home power to rule out inverter problems and I just have no more ideas. Crutchfield says most likely it is a problem with the unit...what should i do? Its not fair for me to pay to fix it when I bought it and was told it works..anyone have any ideas?

Not sure if this will help but on the 9813, you have to enable the aux input? Good luck!

are the aux inputs part of the unit? I know my CDA-7995 has AI-net and the Aux inputs are part of an add on option. It reads that the aux input will not work w/o a CD-Changer. Anyway, unless you're gettin mad interference, I would check all the grounds and make sure there's not a high-power power cable near the RCAs.
