Alpine Speakers

Hey all...

I'm planning on getting the Alpine 9815 HU, and want to upgrade my speakers too.

I would like to get some Alpine speakers to match up with the HU, but I can't be sure they will fit, and wanted to know if anyone has tried these:

6.5" - SPR-174A - Mounting Depth 2.75"

5.25" - SPR-134A - Mounting Depth 2.25"

According to Crutchfield, these will not fit, but I don't understand why. The 5.25 should fit, and the 6.5 should be ok instead of a 6.75...

Anyone have any idea on this?

Or have any recommendations of other speakers that are good, decently priced (these two run a little over $100 online), and will fit?

I personally would like to get Infinity, but again, same problem with fitting.

I don't want to buy speakers and find out they won't fit, but Crutchfield doesn't really list anything that is that great that fits, so I'm turning to the forum for help. I'm looking for fullrange speakers, not components as I just want to replace the BOSE speakers.

BTW, I've got a 2k2 Max with BOSE w/o Navi.

Thanks!

I'm not really looking for prices just yet...I want to be sure the speakers will fit.

I did go to etronics, and they say that front/rear are both 6.5"...

This is why I'm so confused. I tend to trust Crutchfield more than any other site, but I wanted to ask here to find out from people who actually have installed speakers in the 5th gens.

I've also gone through a lot of posts on the forum, and found some that say 6.5" front/rear, and others that say 6.75" front/5.25" rear.

Thanks.
