faceplate sticking out?

How can I install an aftermarket radio receiver on the dash without having the faceplate sticking out? I would it leveled with the dash.

I don't think that the mounting holes for the stereo are in a position to do that. You could probably drill new mounting holes, but if your face needs to flip down to put in a CD it probably won't work. I know this has been brought up before, search and I know you will find it.

I also have a kenwood and it is FLUSH!!!

I had an alpine and it was flush also.

the thing with both decks were you could only use 2 of the mounting hole on the deck and also had to angle the deck just a little bit more cause both were flip down.

just play around with the mount holes and you'll get what you want.

You have to find someone or some site to host the pics. The easiest way is to go to the members section and create your own cardomain web page for free and the post links to the site or pics.

I've got a unit on the way that plays Mp3's but I wouldn't get to concerned or hyped about a unit playing Mp3's. From what I understand if you plan on playing Mp3's that you have downloaded they need to be aleast 256bits for the Mp3s to sound decent in your ride. I have about 1000 songs downloaded on my computer now and I probably have 1 or 2 that are 256bits. They are pretty hard to find, well at least the songs that I listen to.

Buy a new head unit? Thats your answer hahahahaha

Take it to a good installer tell him you want it custom mounted flush. He'll remount the unit and make a custom trim panel.

i thought MP3s at about 128 or 196bits sound better than FM radio stations.

I wouldn't go so far as saying almost CD quality. But definately better than FM, a lot better. I have a ton of mp3s in my car, but I still tote around my favorite CDs because they do sound so much better. Plus, you can really crank your CDs much louder than mp3s, because there is much less noise and distortion on the CDs. How good the mp3 sounds really depends on the song: if it is predominately strong chords and beats then it drowns out the noise in the mp3. But if it is quiet and/or slow, the noise is much more prevailant. And of course the kbps helps, too. I try and get all 192.

This is, of course, just my humble opinion from my own personal experiences.

So, the 192kbps sound pretty decent, but not as good as cd's. Ok, just trying to clarify, because like I said I haven't owned a mp3 player before myself, but had heard that the quality really suffered. From what I've gathered from you I would say that it really depends on how serious you are on sound quality. Right??

I've owned Mp3 Players.. My old JVC played mp3's just like it played cd's.... The Quality was UN-NOTICEABLE it was exactly the same... Thats my opinion some of you may disagree.

All you have to do to flush mount any radio is drill new holes in your mounting bracket about a 1/2 inch back, or however deep your trim ring is. Very easy to do. You can even recess it a full inch, and build a cover that hides your radio if you want. You just need some creativy.

Dang man, you don't have to get all hostile.

Yea, I can tell a big difference on the computer. Volume, signal strength and clarity. I guess I'll see how it sounds in the Max when my deck gets here.

It all depends on the quality of the mp3. The higher the kbps the better.
