Just ordered this setup and have a few Qs

Just ordered an Infinity 12" 120.3se powered by RF 451S

now, is this amp too powerful to make the lights dim? Also, where would be the best place to mount the amp? Is there a way of wiring it without drilling any holes?

thanks

I have a question.

Why would you order somthing and THEN ask if it's gonna work.

Now on a serious note..... Without answering your question I am going to ask you about what yuo bought.

- impedance of your subs
- power specs of your amp

You tell me this and this will answer one of your questions.

As for the lights dimming.... there is no way you should worry about things like that.

the sub is a single coil 4 ohm sub and the amp is a 2 channel that puts out 450 x 1 @ 4ohm in bridged mode

I know the amp will work out well with the sub, i just read somewhere recently that an amp more powerful than 350W might make the lights dim

regarding to mounting, i'd like to know the best possible place to mount the amp (vertically)... is mounting it on the sub box a good idea?

My lights used to dim too, but then I bought a new battery and the haven't dimmed since. Even now with the JL 500/1 bumpin'.

Yes you could mount the amp onto the side of the box, just be sure not puncture the box with the screws.

yeah the amp can be mounted on the box but make sure the heatsinks are vertical for best heat dissapation. btw, RF amps are all under-rated. my old 200s amp actually put out 257 watts. it should say on the birth certificate that comes with the amp.

puts out more than its rated? that could be interesting.. my sub's RMS handling is 300, and the amp is rated 450, if it puts out more like you say, lets say 500, could that be bad? I see people putting about 50% more power to their subs then they are rated all the time but this would be more than 50%...

hmm, it'll be in a small sealed box so i'm not worrying
