question for dj kontakt or anyone w/experience with focal

i know u have experience with the focal lines of speakers, so i got a question for u. how is the bass response from the 165a component line and 165ca coaxials? this is the setup i want to get, but i cannot find a shop near where I live that carries these specific speakers (they only carry the utopia or polyflex lines). i want to know because i really want to stay away from having to get a subwoofer, so would i be happy with the bass from the components in front and the coax's in the rear? also, would it be okay if i bought a 2 channel amp to power the components in front and powered the rear coax's with a head unit, or would u recommend just getting a 4 channel amp? which one would u recommend? thanx for all the help. peace

The Access line has a really good bass response. For my computer speakers, I built ported boxes for a pair of 165 CA'a and I was really suprised with their performance.

I would suggest getting a nice 4 ch amp to power the speakers, a HU just doesnt do Focal justice, and setting it up off the HU is for cars with subs for what I have experienced. Just be careful with the gains and try not to get a 100x4 or more amplifier. The tweeters in both the coax and components are pretty sensitive to getting too much power.

Theres some places to get Focal's online such as www.woofersetc.com, which I have seen the best prices at.
