Antenna/wiring probs for aftermkt head unit

I'm posting this in the Audio forum too, but here goes...
I'm trying to install an aftermarket head unit in my GXE. There's a wire on the wiring harness (Blue w/o stripe) that's supposed to be for the power antenna - but I have nowhere to connect it. The wires coming out of the back of my JVC HU don't have a Blue wire, just the Blue/white for the remote turn-on.

Do I need to connect this blue wire to something for the antenna to work? Can I just splice it inline with the remote turn-on?

Also, there's no second wire for the antenna. I bought the dual diversity adapter, and I've got the big connector hooked up alright, but there's nothing to go into the second hole on the adapter. Is that supposed to be empty?

Thanks in advance... Full stereo installs in 40* weather are great!

you can splice it with the remote turn-on wire. The only downfall is that the antenna will be up anytime the radio is on.(including when using the CD player) As for the antnna adapter, the stcok radio uses dual antennas. that is why there are two antenna connections. With the aftermarket HU, you can only use one antenna. Just leave the other one empty.

Right - I understand that the stock radio has two antennas - which is the reason I got the adapter, so the two can both be used with the aftermarket HU. I'm saying that there was only one antenna coming out of the back of my stock HU - the big clunky one. The "normal" antenna connection was nowhere to be found...

the stock antenna connector should be larger than a "normal" one and it has two pins in it.(one for each antenna) With the adapter, you should be able to plug in the factory antenna connector into the adapter, then the adapter into the new HU. If you need help, let me know. I'm in RI.

OK, I'm pretty sure I set it up the right way then... I was just under the impression that, because the adapter had two female connections (and one male) that there should've been two male connections from the car stock - but I guess that's not the case.

I've gotta screw around w/the car tomorrow again anyways, cuz I'm pretty sure i majorly screwed up the wiring...
