A shop will be more expensive then other places

But it depends what you're looking for. Maybe a single sub/box, cd changer, low end headunit, good pair or two of speakers, ect.

You could get a good pair of front speakers for that, or a car starter if you don't have one. Maybe a X over that would be nice.

Do you have anything aftermarket for the audio system now? With that $200 you could get an ok 2 channel amplifier, or a basic subwoofer and box, or a remote starter or basic alarm, or some better front speakers with installation.

what exactly do u mean? are you talking about a remote that starts the car? wouldn't i have to get rid of my remote if i do that?

and thanks for the other suggestions.. i'll have to consider all of these things now..

i have a stock stereo, but i don't want to get a head unit unless it's really good.. which means i will have to save up. and sub sounds quite tempting though! 8)

remote start

yea, remote start is the jimmy jam for cold weather

you can start your car while warm inside then let the car warm up with a remote

some systems can integrate ur alarm/locks with one remote, or you can have 2 seperate

check ur local dealers, or go to

bryn mawr stereo, hi fi buys, tweeter

200 bucks goes far in car stuff tho, but i would only reccommend a box, half decent subs for 200, or speakers

200 head units arent that fantastic....or find a high quality cable dealer (monster cable) and MONSTERIZE your whole system

you can also get a monster cap that can power your head unit for extra punch, its a little trick in competition, they are around 100 something..very cool its like a high power capacitor

thats all the ideas for now

Why would anyone spend $100 on a cap for a headunit is beyond me. $100 stiffening caps are best used on high power amplifiers feeding subwoofers......

If one has megabuttwads of cash invested in a competition setup with multiple batteries and 1F or greater caps on each amplifier then adding a 1F cap on a headuint it simply a waste of money or resources. All anyone needs to stiffent the PS for a headunit is a 25uF cap.....
