it ok to mix different ohm subs?

is it ok to mix different subs with different ohm ratings? if i have two 4 ohm SVC subs and add a 8 ohm dvc sub, wired in parallel, what would the final ohm load be on the amp?

thanks in advance for any replies

everything in parallel or the two 4 ohm subs in series and then in parallel with the 8? Regardless you don't want to do it because the subs won't share the amps power equally.

oh good point. i want to add another 10" to my setup. i have two 4 ohm dvc subs right now, and with three 4 ohm subs wired in parrallel, i'll see a 1.34 ohm load. i know not many amps out there are below 2 ohm stable. you recommend any amps that can handle the load?

edit: i have SVC subs, not DVC

There are a multitude of class D mono sub amps that are 1 ohm stable. Pick any of them. But figure out your ohm load first. You indicated you have a pair of dual 4 ohm subs and that you plan to get one additional single voice coil 4 ohms sub. Is that right? Three dual 4 ohm subs can be wired 2.7 ohms or 6 ohms easy.

yes i have two 4 ohm scv subs right now and planning to get another one.
how did you get 2.7 ohms? isn't it: sub ohm / # of subs? so 4 ohm / 3 = 1.333

i'm still kind of new to this ohm thing

Sorry, in your second post you indicated 4 ohm dvc. Therefore six 4 ohm coils.
12 / 2 = 6
4 / 3 X 2 = 2.7
