They sound pretty loud, now I cna turn the bass down really low so I cna play my speakers louder without distortion. I've only been playing them for about 45 minutes and already it's dismantling my trunk. The rear "maxima" piece is loose and starting to rattle now. I'll have to caulk that on or something. Also, when I am at a stoplight you can watch the tachometer go up and down as the subs hit, with a range of about 300 RPMS... Is this a shure fire message that I need a cap?

To answer the last question first, Yes. The alternator, stock or aftermarket doesn't produce much amperage at 600-900 RPM. The variation you are seeing is probably from the alt kicking on - first it dips down in RPM, then goes up and levels off. When the alt kicks on a few horsepower are devoted to generating DC voltage, and at low RPM there isn't a lot of horsepower or torque.
