I am looking to install my system in my max. My first concern is how to set up my subs! I have never gone with a bandpass or ported enclosure before, only sealed. But with the configuration of the trunk and rear seats I feel this would be the best way to go in the 5th generation MAX! I am thinking it would be a good idea to port it through the rear deck.

Has anyone built a bandpass enclosures for their 5th generation MAX? I will be using 2 JL Audio 12 W6's. So if you have these subs and have built an enclosure can you please email me with the dimensions ( front and rear volumes and port size ) Or if any knows of a web-site to obtain this info please feel free to make suggestions.

Bandpass boxes are very hard to build, if they are even slightly off they will not perform well. You're better off staying with a sealed or ported box. Do a search online (try www.google.com) and you should be able to find free dimensioning software.

DMAX, for bandpass

Call JL Audio direct, and ask for their technical support. They will be able to help you very specifically with an enclosure for the 12W6's. But first read their website. Some of the best info you'll find about various enclosures is on their site at jlaudio.com, and they have always been helpful when I've called. Personally, I would recommend a sealed enclosure. They are usually the best to integrate with your system. And I've done most every type enclosure. Also you could do alot worse than JL's stealthbox. Hope this helps.

Yeah, they are a little bit unforgiving but if that is what you want I will help you, of course you have to be on the east coast. So Email me. I will supply dimensions, etc. If within 200miles, more, hands on labor intensive, pain, suffering, and awe inspiring base!!! If you are within 200 miles.
