best place for crossovers?

Hey i was just wondering where the best location to put the crossovers would be for front components. Should they be close to the speakers like in the door or under the seat? or does it not matter and i can mount them in the trunk near the amps? any help is appreciated.

kick panels would be ideal location....if your crossover size allows it...

i've heard that you shouldn't place the crossovers inside the door, as they're more susceptible to water getting in there.

I placed mine in the kickpanel and ran two pairs of wire into the door for the tweeter and mid.

mine are in the little side pocket thing on the door, velcro-ed to the side using 2" wide velcro.

My last pair of components I had the x-overs in the doors and the terminals ended up getting rusty. They worked fine but there was some definite rustage.

It really doesn't matter where you put them. Everyone here has good suggestions. If you put them in the doors, I'd just put them in a plastic bag and make sure they're mounted well. By putting them in the trunk you'll just have to buy more speaker wire. If they're adjustable xovers, then you'll want to have them somewhere accessible.

My guys put em either behind the glove compartment, or behind the center console unit where the radio is.
