hey there --

can anyone out there can suggest a DVD HU (without screen)?

so far, I know of the following:

Panasonic CQ DVR 592U
Pioneer DVH P 500MP and DVHP7000
Alpine DVA 7996
Clarion VS735

I REALLY REALLY like the Panasonic, but, Panasonic won't ship anymore (I had a hook up).

Eclipse 55090 ... full copper chassis...nuff said. I have owned one for two years and would not trade it for anything. None of the ones listed above will even compare. It's only downfall nowdays is that it will not play MP3s. If you can find one under $700 snag it.

I would go with the Pioneer DVHP7000...I had that one before I got my DVD changer and it worked great.

 

Here's what I've found out:

JVC KD DV5000 about $300 USD
Clarion VS735 about $300 USD
Rockford Fosgate about $500 USD
Alpine DVA 7996 about $900 USD
Pioneer DVHP5000MP about $450 USD
Pioneer DVHP7000DVD about $600 USD

so far, I'm debating between the JVC and the Pioneer 5000....thoughts on these???

Go with that Panasonic IMO, you can find one used on ebay for relatively cheap. Make sure to get the newest one, the one that plays MP3's and DVD's. It is a sleek single DIN size and looks great either custom mounted or just in-dash......
