good Idea or bad idea

I always wanted to build 2 or maybe 3 12 in subs into my rear seat of my 3rd generation maxima, and put a clear cover over the cut out in the seats, then build a box in the trunk to support the subs. Im just curious where this would be a good idea, or maybe if someone has done it before and they have pic, i think it would be so cool to be able to see the subs through the seat, or even lean againt them. Any input would be nice, thanks

so your looking to swap the seat for a sub enclosure? That simplifi it? Then use a a plexi cover? Pretty simple, not sure what subs your thinking, they'd have to be massive to need a box that would extend into the trunk. Ihave seen rear seats removed and sub setups done in their place.

so you wanna leave the seat, but you woun't be able to use um? I'm not digging exactly what your heading toward? One thing to remember is the gas tank is under the rear seat.

I think he means sorta like a window where you rest your back, put plexi there and extend the box into the trunk. One for each side.

even if you did pull it off, it would be uncomfortable and there is almost no way you could make it look good unless you had it built in a factory. i wouldnt waste the time or the money.

EDIT: By the way i love your center console/dash. where did you get it?

The console i made, i took a black nylon shirt streched it over the existing console and stabled it in place, the dash is a trim kit i bought off ebay for $100 dollars, they come in the exact size and fit. is that what you meant?

ok i got it. Yeah be pretty easy to do, but you'd be better off remaking a whole seat to show off the subs. If you don't you end up with non matching parts.
