Im guessing you havent heard Alot of other brands available then? Infinty is a lower mainstream line. Also I think he was just asking about the ones that he listed...
Keanders.... limiting to just between those three I would definately have to stick with the Focals. But speaker choosing is up for speculation, as different people have different tastes. Id say listen to all three as different people have different tastes in what they like as the above post shows. He appears to be satisfied with his, so you may like something totally different. As do most.

hmm. well if the infinity comes with a titanium metal tweeter and cdt comes with a silk dome? then is it all on the install? he may not want the harshness or metal, or maybe he will. id take the jl xr series out of the choices. ive only heard good things about t hem.
I had infinity perfect 6.1 components for 5 months, I hated them from day 1. I replaced them with JL XR 6.5 components last week, and so far I like them a lot. I have 130 watts going to them, the tweeters are pretty crisp, a little bright, but I'm gonna play with the settings on the crossovers. The JL's midbass is 100000x's better than the infinity's, very clean as opposed to the nonexistent mids of the infinity's. The JL's tweeter mounting system is great, I can angle and rotate the tweeter in almost any direction, very flexible.
I have always found MB Quarts tweeters to be way too harsh for my tastes, but give a listen and decide for yourself. I have never heard Focals, but I know many audiophiles swear by them.
Go listen to some different setups, then decide

Thanks for all the responses. Right now I have Infinity 6.5 references in both the fronts and the back. I was thinking about upgrading to components and a local shop is going out of business and they had some focal 165A components and some MB Quart components on sale. My infinities are good (great compared to the stock speakers) But I was looking for better midrange bass and clearer ,softer highs.

Personally, I found the tweeter of the Infinity Kappas downright nasty. It's all personal taste though. I prefer their reference line.
Yeah if you want softer highs, don't look at MB quart of Focal. both have "crisp" highs from the different sets I've heard and owned. If you do get one of em..make sure you mount the tweeter off axis.
hmmmm nice midbass and softer highs...definately look into the CD techs at the zeb for cheap. I think the NX 30 tweeter that comes with the Image Dynamics Chameleons is good too.
The JL's have always sounded good to me, but never outstanding...very plain if you could describe a speaker that way. Nothing standing out to make me hate it and nothing standing out to make me like it.
The Bostons I have only heard on a soundboard, so I don't think thats enough to judge them
Speakers are the most important part of your system in my opinion. Also, the most subjective. You may love the sound characteristics of a speaker that I don't. It doesn't necessarily make one better than the other (though some clearly are), it makes it right for you. Listen to all you can.
Wanna step into some high end for cheap...there's a group buy on Seas Lotus components going on now at goldenearmafia.com . With both the performance and Reference sets, you can choose (or maybe pay $10 extra for) a silk tweet. Have heard great things about both sets for the money.
Good luck

i have the boston acoustic z6 (6.5) im not really sure if thats on the same line as the Pro series or if it is the step above. honestly. I love them to death!! my neighbor had the mb quart qsd 216 and we have the same system (JL w7s with JL amps) both of our speakers were able to outsound the tremendous bass we produced, but i always felt his tweeters kicked it way harder than mine, and when he turned it up, it kinda hurt my ears. He complemented my Bostons and said he liked mine, b/c they were very crisp, but yet... not to harsh. but like pearl96max said, every1 has a different taste in sound. also, it depends on what kind of music you listen to
hope this helps.

hope this helps.
i got a brand new set of crystal cpe60 with silk tweeters on ebay for $65. (they go for like $130+ship or so online, retail 250).
The midbass on them is reasonable, but i got them for their clarity. They are very clear and crystal-like
I have beefy digital designs midwoofers in my rear deck so that compensates and gives a nice little kick in the chest.
YOu would be happy with anything you mentioned, but also have a look at CDT and Crystal speakers .
you can still get the crystals on ebay for $68+ship NEW. this is a ******* amazing deal and as long as you don't need thundering midbass the clarity on these things is amazing, and for 68??? seriously it would be a sin to not get them at that price.

I listen to some Boston Pro Series, Infinitiy Kappas, some Alpine Components and some Focals and I think I am going to go with the Focal 165V3. Does anyone know where to get a tan Q-Logic kickplate enclosure? I was thinking of putting my midrange driver and tweet there and putting the woofer in the door. What do you think of that set up>

Kick panels really need to be custom built for every speaker and every vehicle owner. No two ears are alike, nor any two speakers. The aiming of the speakers and the volume of the kick panel need to be considered on a case by case basis.
If you do go with the Q-logic pods just go to an auto parts store and get some vinyl die or paint.

Do an online search. Or email in a month or two and I might have time to detail a cheap homemade kick panel build-up.
The most important step I will cover here. Pick a decent midrange that can fit in your kick-panel area. With the maxima if you have larger than a size 9 foot that pretty much means a 5 1/4 inch mid or smaller. But a 6 1/2 can fit, it's just not easy and won't be as "pretty". Build a small enclosure for this mid. A PVC pipe cap is commonly used. You can cut a piece of MDF into a mounting ring and glue that to the pipe cap with some quick set silicone, locktite, whatever. Drill a hole in the bottom of the pipe cap for the speaker wires. Seal this hole with some rope-caulk once you have the wires inserted. This can will sound pretty nasal because it is so tiny but you can use it to determine the best midrange locations. You can use old t-shirts or small bean bags to prop the speakers in various locations. If you can sew make your own bean bags or get a box of zip lock bags and use them. Cloth bags will stay in place better. I recommend getting some of the Autosound 2000 speaker imaging and placement CD's.
Once you have found a good location for your mids move on to the tweets. You can semi-permanently mount the mids by using some radio backstraps, or get some of the roll type metal straps from the plumbing department in your local hardware store.

Thanks everyone for there responses. I listed to several. The focal's and MB Quarts were a little to harsh sounding to me. As were the Bostons and Infinity's. The ones I heard that I liked the most were CDT Audio. I ordered a pair of CL641 from the ZEB and the should be here by the end of the week.
focal is generally thought of as being the best by most people, but personally, the JL XR series are probably the best that i have ever heard. i know they're not on your list, but you might want to check out the Adire Kodas too.
