4th gen antenna adapter + window antenna

hey there --

I replaced my HU and in order to hook up the antenna input, I had to buy
an adaptor as the Maxima has two antennas (and two prongs in the stock
antenna connector).

From what I've heard, when I plug in the adapter only the power antenna
will be hooked up and the window antenna will not be connected...BUT, I need
the opposite to happen -- so that the window antenna is connected and the
power antenna is not connected.

any ideas???

THANKS!!!

bypass all of that and just rewire the window antenna straight to the HU and do away with the other antenna

OK, the other antenna has been "taken care of"...
but, how do you propose I rewire the window antenna?

Good question...I will have to get back to you on that one. I will need to be in my car so I can remove my HU to get a better idea of what you are trying to do.

whoa! no need to take the car apart -- thanks tho!

basically, the stock antenna wire has two prongs which gets inserted
in the adapter...on the "out" end of the adaptor is the standard single
prong...

I'm gonna look into installing it tonight...maybe my original source was incorrect
as to the disablement of the window antenna, because, frankly that makes very
little sense.
