Preamp Voltage ?

Would i be able to tell the difference between a head unit with 2.2v outputs and one with 4v outputs? Theyre preamp straight from the HU.

with 4v you amps gains should be lower and thus should send a "cleaner" signal. but these days it seems everyone claims h/u dont put out the preamp voltage and such. but either way, 4volts is better.

Pay more attention to the resistance than the Voltage. Most manufacturers are now 4-6.5Volt. With 200+Ohm resistance. Eclipses lower line 2.8Volt is easily comparable with most other 4+volt.

Yes you will tell a difference.

yea look for the lowest possible output impedance...the lower the impedance, the closer the unit's OP-AMP's are to ideal OP-AMP's (which is a good thing)
