custom trunk...supplies and materials

so im getting ready to put in a new custom trunk into my max....got rid of the solo baric setup and picked up a whole new power acustic/jl setup

2 420watt amps (pa)(one for each sub)
1 400 watt amp(pa) for the interior

2 jl 12w3V2 subs

now im gonna be doing the intire trunk completly custom but im nto sure on what materials to use or even the prices on them

the mdf is basic but i want this to look really good so instead of carpet im trying to decide between

-twede
-valor
-vinyl
or suede

first off does anyone know anywhere online or in the Long Island area where i can pick up these materials and how much they usually run? also i want the sides of the trunk to be kinda padded under whatever material i use so im thinking about putting down a layer or carpet padding. has anyone does this before? and if anyone has what was your opinion on the final product?

the final design of the setup is still in the works but it should definitly look awsome when i finally finish all of it.

Can't really help out with a whole lot since I am on the wrong coast. But I can make one suggestion and that is to try and use a good grade of plywood (Birch or Oak) instead of MDF. Nothing against MDF but man is it heavy.

Or if you really wanna go custom, fiberglass. Once you learn the wonders of glassing, you won't really think of a MDF setup as too "custom".

Anyways, for those choices in tweet/vinyl... check www.selectproducts.com

Yeah i used mdf it is heavy but like 20 bucks for a sheet. I liked using carpet cause it matches the side of the trunk the gray sides. When i get off campus into a better place where i can open my trunk and not worry about people getting ready to jack my stuff i'll show you my custom setup.

yea select products was a bit expensive but they definitly do have all the supplies im going to need

as for the post about matching the side carpet all of that is coming out, im laying down carpet padding and heat molding the vinyl onto that so its the new liner for the side of the trunk...hopefully it will open up some extra room in their for me as well but it will definitly increase the looks

I got Baltic Birch wood for my subwoofer enclosure for 20 bucks for all the wood i needed...my local home depot put it in the scrap wood section, and was selling it around 4 bucks a piece, my box isnt a small box either, its 3.89 ft^3. Just check out home depot, they put so much good wood in the scrap section, I built two subwoofers, one of them being 5 ft^3 for my home.
