Capacitor question, whats good?

Ok i'm new to the world of compacitors but not to car audio (i know i've been slacking) Right now...well what i'm running right now is irrelevant what i'll be running is 1 jbl 1200.1 (1200x1 at 2 ohms) amp to my 1 audiobahn aw1206t sub (RMS 1500Watt) and the fosgate amp i have running the sub now a 500/a to my highs (i know its only 2 channel one to the front and one to the back speakers i've got a 2 channel doing it right now rather well actually with only 200 watts compared to the fosgates 500).... Ok with that said my new system is gonna have about 1700 watts going to it RMS, So to my question, what Capacitor should i get. I see plenty on e-bay but i don't know if name brand really matters or not on cap. I've heard you need about 1 farad for every 1000 watts so i was thinking either a 1.25 / 1.5 / 2.0 farad cap.

So do i really need a 2 farad cap for my system?
Does it matter what name brand i get or should i look for something else in the details?
Does anyone have specific good or bad experiences with certain caps?

I know its time to get one cause now with about 800 watts running on my system i'm getting a lil bit of light dimming. So lemmie know what you guys think... (btw i'm running 4 gauge wire back from the battery with a splitting terminal that takes it down to 8 gauge before each amp, should i get a bigger splitting terminal so thats its 4 gauage to each amp?)

Ok ok i don't know wtf a batcap is but thanx for trying, ummm if you care to elaborate (maybe i'm to tired but that web page didn't help at all) that would be nice, i've seen and heard a difference with cap's so i don't know where u'd come up with that idea? I'd honestly love to know though but i've NEVER heard of a batcap..... I figure if its so great i'd have heard of it by now..... If anyone else wants to chime in pls feel free....

caps are a drain on the electrical system. you would need atleast a 5 farad cap in order for it to be effective on a 1000 watt system, and even that's pushing it. the cap gets drained too quickly during a bass hit and cant supply all the energy needed. most peoplle still get dimming with caps because there alternator cannot keep up. a cap is only good for smoothing out the DC voltage by helping to remove AC ripple...in other words it's really just gonna work as a big, expensive filter for your electrical system. A batcap is like a battery/cap hybrid...the batcap400 is capable of discharging 400 amps of current for 8 seconds, they are very nutty and reasonably priced.

better yet get a beefier alternator. getting a second battery involves too much wiring IMO

ummmmm...why? id rather just get a batcap that works than spend 500 bucks on 2 batteries and a cap that does nothing but filter my power line...lol

actually more than 500 bucks since you have to add in the cost of the battery isolator, not to mention the fact that you are severely taxing the alternator with a 2 battery system.
