Wiring DVD and CD
Wiring DVD and CD
I just bought the Ldvd84 from Legacy and the Pioneer DEH-P8600MP. I have already installed the Pioneer deck and today im going to install the Legacy one in my glove box my only problem is im not completely sure how to go about wiring this. Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks Guys
lemme ask you this: why the glove box?
anyhow, it says Legacy DVD has A/V out. So you take the Video cable and put in your screen (you have one, right?)
For audio, Pioneer requires an input adapter (CD-RB20). Buy that one and that's going to be your auxialy input. Then just take a pair of RCA cables and run them from DVD player to your Pioneer.

yes i have a screen it mounted in the double din and thats the reason for the glovebox. i could of taken the money for the pioneer deck and the legacy deck and just bought a pioneer dvd cd deck however i really wanted the color display and the output that the pioneer deck i have has. kinda confusing but thanks for the info
yea, man. sorry for being confusing, i was at work, so i had to finish up quick.
Here's what I would do:
1. Video: connect it straight to the screen. No magic there.
2. Audio:
I would feed the audio to the speakers through the Pioneer headunit (I believe that's what you wanna do as well). To do so, you need to use Pioneers AUX IN adapter CD-RB20, so your pioneer hu will now have AUDIO IN. Once you got that, you will need to choose what audio source you want to use from your DVD player. It says you have to pairs of RCA out + A/V out. Use a pair of RCA out, try FRONT first. You can always try each one and see what sound you like better (I doubt there will be a difference tho). Once you decide what source you wanna to use, just plug in the RCA cable to you AUX IN adapter (CD-RB20).
3. Powering everything:
Damn, that'll be some testing to do. My GUESS would be to split the power cable that goes to the Pioneer hu, make it longer and run it to the DVD player. Then gound the player.
Items needed:
CD-RB20 adapter (1) - to enable HU Audio IN
RCA Cables (2 pairs) 1 pair for audio to HU, 1 for video to screen, but I think you'll only use 1 wire there.
Couple feet of a wire of same kind as original power wire.
However, there's a little problem with this setup: you will have to turn ALL three devices to watch a DVD: Your pioneer player, to enable audio; your DVD player - to enable DVD playback; the screen - to actually see something.
Anyway, good luck with the setup. Post some pics when you're done and feel free to ask any questions. I tried to make it simple, but it still may seem confusing, so just ask.
