Alpine VS JBL? subs

i am plannin on addiding a pair of subs in my trunk.
Both the the bottom of the line JBL and alpine seem to be in the relatively low price range. But which one is louder and better sound quality?

its my first sub purchase so i havent really had any experience in that area

thnx in advance

i think the bottom line jbl is gt series now, but the type e's are pretty nice, i'd go with them over the jbl, if you gave us a price rang we could probably find you somethin even better

yup, bottom of the line JBL are the GT series, and im pretty sure Type E are alpines bottom of the line model. the reason because im considering JBL and alpine is because they both have a promotional package for a pretty good price. JBL has 2 enclosed 10 inch GT100 and a mono amp for 549 CDN(sorry dont kno in US) and alpine also has a package deal for 599CDN for 2 12 inch Type E with enclosure and a mono amp...both seem to be good deals but the thing about 10 inch JBL is they are weaker than the 12's so Alpines seem to be a better deal

BTW anyone running JBL or Alpine subs? thnx for ur help

I've got a single 12 inch alpine type r in a sealed box. It sounds decent with about 500 watts going to it.
