Eclipse Ti 12 in a ported box?

Has anyone done this? I'm bored with my current setup, and was thinking about making a ported enclosure for my sub, I recall ported boxes tend to be considerably larger then sealed. I'm trying to keep the box as small as possible. Is there any decent enclosure design software I can get my hands on, or perhaps, if anyone running this setup be kind enough to send me the dimentions of what they have, I'd certainly appreciate it.

I have an Eclipse Ti 15 in a ported box. The box is 3.28 cubic feet before displacement, tuned to 30hz. It pounds!!!! You have a 12" so you should make it smaller. Keep in mind, these are small box drivers.

Cool, do you by chance have any pics of your setup? I'm trying to get some design ideas. I put together plenty of sealed boxes, but I'm afraid ported is somewhat new to me. How would I go about designing the box with the rectangular shaped port built into the box, rather then using one made of PVC or ABS plastic. Oh and where should the port be aimed; towards the cab, or towards the back of the car?

Thanks

Mine is very basic. I was skeptical about ported boxes being one note wonders and not sounding as good as sealed, so I built a few with the 4" PVC pipe so I would know what exact tuning I wanted for that woofer. I have a few different subs. I can shoot you a pic. Hit me on PM with an addy. Here are some links you can use to find some demensions.

In my last car I had a pair of Aluminum 15's in a ported box (friend of mine designed it) it was about 6^3ft and that thing put out some serious bass.. Problem was that it was about the size of a big dresser, and completely killed my trunk space. Not to mention it was made of 1" MDF so it was extremely heavy. I'm shooting for something ported, yet as small as possible.
I'm debating running a port into the rear deck of the car, but considering how much it rattles, even after everything I have done to it, I'm not sure.
My email is redmax2k1@spymac.com, so any pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

DL the WinISD Pro verion. Go over to www.caraudioforum.com for any info regarding audio. A Ported Eclipse Ti should push some serious bass, the Alum's alone are loud as hell sealed ported they are monsters.

I only have a single 15 (Brahma) in mine ported to 28hz and when compared to kloogy's system of 2 alum 12's it kept up surpisingly well. A lot better then I thought they would in a sealed box, so ported these things should really ****. Rattles suck, but what can you do...with that much air being moved, even 6 layers of sound deadner isnt enough on my ride

I hate the rattles!!! No matter what I do, they wont go away. A lot of the time I dont want to turn it up for fear of it sounding like crap if you're behind me, but to hell with it! Bass is addicting. Let me rephrase that. "Good" bass is addicting.
