OK guys I'm sorry. what do capcitors do and what are they used for? Will I need one if I'm gonna be running a 4-channel amp and a mono amp?

a capictor is like a mini battery. it stores electricity so you get consistant power to the amp. thus when the bass hits hard no lights dim and all other accesories can have there required power. sounds goo but depending on what type of music you listen to its useless. such as rap, rock and reggae(sp?) too much bass. the capacitor won't have time to store the power. the bass will hit too often for the capcitor to help. the juice will flow straight thru. well at least thats what i read.

Some believe it to help with dimming lights. Some don't: Like this guy who did some homework on it.
