box size vs rms

ok so a bunch of you probly remember the posts i made about a month ago when i was getting ready to start buying my new system and replacing the solo barics.....so heres what im up to now.

Im ready to start building my box and i have all my equipment but im weary of the box size i should go with.

On jlaudio.com they have schematics for the 12w3v2 that works out ot be 1.35 cubic feet(on the outside of the box)(not int the mood to work out interior dimensions but its probly around 1.2 or so.... they also reccomend 300watts rms to the subs.

so being that im going to be feeding my subs a constant 300w do you all think that i should use their specs(modified to fit into the trunk(like HELL i have room for a 43in wide box thats only 10in deep)) or should i go with a less of a box size for the subs...say 1cu/f per chamber.

now also whats the comparitive differnce between sizes...smaller= punchier but larger=deeper? or vice versa?

ahhhhh so confused.....any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

so let me get this straight.. 2 w3 12's with 300 watts rms to each? if thats the case... the 1.2cuft per sub should be fine. smaller boxes need more power to make the sub excurt more, hence smaler boxes= higher power handling. but with a larger box the sub becomes more efficient and low frequency extension goes up. i modeled the w3's with 30 to each in a 2.4 cube box on winisd and it looks like you can run that with no problem.

.02 is def. inaudible btw and did you also include the displacement of the divider if your making it a dual chambered box?
