hello,

i was curious about changing my audio for my 97 maxima..
i dont have much fundings or knowledge but will research along my way.. so bare with me.. the main problem i have w/ the stock audio is that the bass is really static at higher volume. has any other people experienced this? is the problem lying with in the speakers themselves, or just because the way it is?

im trying to find a cd/mp3 receiver as well as maybe upgrade speakers.. i dunno if i can afford going all the way w/ component speakrs, and that route, but i guess i'll see..

i will take things slowly, i guess first and foremost is to get a cd in there :P ...

any pointers in picking a receiver? i've heard that it's bout the rms and what not, but i'm a noob..

next i guess speakers. nothing major or fancy w/ amps, subs and etc.. unless there are some cheap setups.. but i dont' look for anything that expensive, just want something decent..

perhaps about 200 for receiver
and another 200 or so for speakers and what not..

< $350-$400? is that suffice for some decent sound upgrades where i can rid the static and shudder?
