to anyone who wants 2 12's....

i just installed my adire audio shivas and im more than impressed. i used to have 2 10" phoenix gold titaniums and the shivas are far better in spl and a step up in sq. im running them in a 2 cube sealed box stuffed on a jbl600.1 they are very punchy yet drop low also. to anyone who is looking to spend about $250 for 2 12's these are a solid buy but you have to have an amp that puts out around 400-600 watts rms @ 2 ohms pending on box size. also if anyone is looking to sound deaden their max i highly recommend Edead V3. its a liquid deadener and my trunk rattle is barely audible and the only thing that rattles is the rear bumper. its very very quiet now as compared to without any deadening. thats all.

250 for both. ugh long story short with the ti 10's... their 20lbs (each) paper weights. the shiva is actually a home audio sub and when i get old and dont want as much bass ill build a box for one and run it in my house... im sure they would sound amazing.

edit: and they're paper weights not due to user error... but a manufacturing defect...

Where can I get that deadener liquid?

edesignaudio.com but register at icixsound.com and you get a discount. its $40 plus shipping for a gallon as opposed to i think $65. either way for 50 sq feet its a deal and a half.

I'm building a pair of Shiva subs for my living room right now. 85L cabinets tuned to 20hz (the Adire Alignment). For my car, I've got a special Adire driver. They built a bunch of Shiva-like subs (works better in a small, sealed box) for a company that couldn't pay for them. I picked one up for $75.

The Dayton DVC 12 is just as good as the Shiva and works better in smaller boxes. The build quality is the same since they are both OEMed by Eminence.

There are a lot of good Dayton designs here. Even a few car installs. If you read the PE Tech Talk board, a few of the Titanic MKIII's are being used in cars also.

I descibed it in the post. It was a bargain model labeled the VP-12. Built for Vamp Audio. The "VAMP" on the dust cap is the only thing I don't like about the driver. The Tumult is a great driver but I'm all about value. I'd be wasting 95% of it's ability.

I put a shiva in a friends car (1.6 sealed) and played around with it's bigger brother, the tempest for a while. Both great subwoofers....The tempest is VERY impressive in my opinion. They are nice and cheap, get loud and sound pretty good (I've heard better, but it efinately sounds good)...only drawback is big boxes. 2-4 cubic feet is a lot of space!

Holy moly I just noticed your box was 2 cubes total...Thats pretty small for a shiva. It must be punchy as heck. When I played with it in a smaller enclosure (was in a subaru imprezza with focals 6.5's up front...decent system) it got real loud and punchy, but didn't have the low end extention I wanted in a sub.

What are they crossed over at? What does your front stage consist of?

its very punchy and loud for sure.. a change from my previous setup. as for getting low every song i have hits just as well exepct for late night tip.. doesnt go as low but im also playing them at a reasonable volume so once i turn the sub control back up to normal ill really evaluate the setup. crossed at 80hz and front stage is cdt cl61's off a pioneer 8500... they actually keep up quite nicely so far but who knows in a few days. the setup i have is actually the recommened car enclosure volume for the shivas according to the shiva white paper on their website. i stuffed them with polyfill so im sure it helped. im def. liking the punchiness of them for sure its a different soudn when compared to my previous setup which had a qtc of like .58.
