should I replace my HU or just get an FM-mod. Sirius controller? Help needed!

Okay, please excuse my complete ignorance when it comes to all things car audio related. I have a 2000 Infiniti i30t and want Sirius satellite radio.... but I have no idea how to decide whether it's best for me to add a satelllite radio tuner or to replace my factory Bose headunit. I was thinking about replacing my HU with an Alpine that has integrated satellite radio, but they only offer XM and I definitely want Sirius. My impression is that the better car audio manufacturers only offer XM-- is that right?

Further, I don't want to replace my factory speakers/amp-- would a better HU be wasted on my Bose equipment?

Finally, if an FM-modulated tuner is the right solution, is there a significant sound difference between wireless and non-wireless?

Thanks for any help.

anybody?

I'll be at the mercy of some local audio store (not so good) or my own intuition (terrible) without y'all.

I don't think you'll be able to replace your HU and keep your stock Bose speakers and amps, I suggest hooking satelite radio to your stock HU if possible

Thanks for filling me in... I was worried about the compatibility question, so your reply helps a lot.

Kenwood Excelon HU's are right up there with the Alpines in sound quality. Just make sure if you take the PNP route for satellite that you get a HARDWIRED FM MOD. It sounds much better than a normal fm mod.
