Joey, your best bet is china town. The name of the store is called J & L Game. They have a site but they dont have it advertised for sale on there. I bought an Aladdin Advanced chip from them, $125 installed

I ran across a site that use to customize XBOXs. They don't do it anymore for some reason. Does anyone know where I can get mine customized (i.e. painted with different L.E.D. lights installed) ?

you dont necessarily need a mod chip. you can flash your onboard chip once you make it connect a few points on the motherboard. its not difficult but it is time consuming. gives you the same thing as a modchip, except cant be turned off (unless you go through a lenghtier install), which means you cannot run xbox live, or you will be banned.

I modded my xbox version 1.0 this way about a week ago. took me the whole weekend to for me to figure it out, but now i could do it in about 2 hrs. that includes putting in a new hard drive.

xbox-scene.com was what helped me. instead of soldering, you can use rear window defroster repair kit and some scotch tape. using the james bond 007 game and loading a save to flash the bios is what i used.

I remember when I had Playstation, I bought a Mod chip for like $5 and my dad installed it for me, he said it was nothing but simple soldering(with instructions ofcourse).

Is it as simple for the Xbox or have things gotten more complicated over the years lol.

It's 8 simple wires soldered on an XBOX. Best site to buy, and approved by xbox-scene.com, is System-mods.com. Great tutorial at Team Xecuter's site is here.
