How to add an AMP to a Bose system

Hey guys, I see this question every week from somebody so I'll just post this up here. To add an amplifier to a factory Bose system you need to use this part.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MESE:IT

That's it. No fuss. Just plug it in and you have RCA's.

yes you do. When you add this product you basically have a Bose headunit with 4 ch RCA outs. It is a standard amp install from there.

That is a differnt part number. it is the PAC ROEM-NIS2. It will allow you to add an aftermarket headunit to a Bose stereo. You keep the bose amp and speakers and just change out the headunit only.

Same price. We have them in stock. You can just bid on the ebay item and write us a note or pay me directly and get $1 off.

Bryan

guys, you dont need to spend 60 bucks on the pac converter you can just buy a wiring harness and wire it in like normal .please dont waste you money and time with the Pac converter if you want to install a new head unit

I hooked up subs to the Bose system in my 04 Max. Simple Job. Just splice in at the speakers and go from there. It's not that bad. Just do research and find out which wires to use before you do the install. So once you are in the trunk its smooth sailing. Also, in the 04's you gotta drill a hole in the firewall to get the power wire throuhg. Only way. They sealed up the firewall very well.

You can do that as well if you want to, your signal to noise ratio will just be lower (ie worse sound quality). The PAC units take the balanced line level signal and convert it to a standard unbalanced RCA level signal which your amp can accept.

And yes, this is only for the Bose stereo as far as I know.

The method that you are talking about is just using a high to low converter such as the PAC SNI-35. You can use this on any speaker level signal to get a set of RCA's. But again, you just loose sound quality from the conversion.

You can't go in from the driver side fender well? On the 00-03's you get to it by taking the wheel off, or if you have small arms you can get to it by just turning the wheel all the way to one side.
