Free air sub in bose replacement?

The bose is effectively a free-air sub... Could an 8" sub be dropped into the rear with success? I do not need alot of bass and I DO need trunk space... I am sure you have seen my other posts in search of an answer/idea for a bose replacement in my 2K.. looking for other's setups also.

Infinity doesn't make an 8" free-air sub. They do have 10" ones though.

do yall think a 10" would fit/work in the rear deck in place of the bose? Its a 175Wrms max with it free air which will be fine for me!

sure, you'll need to widen the hole on the rear deck and make a bracket out of MDF
