what size for a 5th gen

audio newb question

what size are the rear speakers in the 5th gen bose? I have a headunit, so i was wondering if i can just purchase the infiniti kapps and install them straight in or does the bose system do something weird? I heard that each speaker has its own amp? My main question is what do i need to do to install the infiniti speakers into my rear door. I dont plan on adding another amp and plan on using my headunit to supply the power... thanks

Each speaker does not have it's own amp. The Bose setup has smaller rear speakers than front. I think 5 1/4. You could get a 5 1/4 component system for the rear if you want or cut a 6.5 hole. I have my head unit powering 6.5 Kappa components up front and 6.5 3-way in the rear, mine was a non-Bose system. The head unit powers them adequately. As long as you get a decent aftermarket headunit. Pioneer has good MOSFET circuitry.

you dont have to 'cut a hole' to fit 6.5's in the rear- you simply remove the speakers, cut an mdf spacer ring for the 6.5s and drill them into the sheet metal-
