Kenwood DDX7015 Head unit?

Is it any good? Can anyone speak from experience with this head unit?
I like the way it looks and want to get the navigation module for it at some point. I did hear that Kenwood has allot of issues. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

I suggest going to my350z.com and registering and go to the audio thread. There's a lot more peeps running that unit than u'll find here. I know it's a different car but it's got a lot of replies with different opinions like menu interface, options, and such. i only know one 5th gen max owner on here by the SN of "phxblue". other than that, i don't see much, plus I think most people on here like the eclipse double din one.

Holy crap that looks good! That's the HU I am looking at and had a question about the Double DIN http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=343194 b/c Crutchfield says it won't fit, regardless of Bose or not.

So yours just slide right in?

I will have to get the PAC adaptor so I can still use my Bose speakers/amp until I upgrade them as well. But I am adding a 12" sub just to get a little more bass.

Thanks.

yeah, the installation was pretty straight forward. I installed Sirius and Navi, too, so it took awhile, but otherwise no problems.

1) When you have the Navi playing and showing you around town, can you still listen to a CD or the radio? Or is it only the voice telling you where to go.
It would be cool to see where you are/going/been on a trip but still listen to music.

2) Do either of you have a picture of what the screen looks like when you are playing a CD?

Thanks!

My music is always on. When I have the map on, I can still control the Sirius, CD, or radio through the remote control.

i ran out and took these 2 but you can also play a cd with video from video source you can also change the wallpaper in the small square in the center.
**note this is a mp3 cd so a cd would have some diffrent wording but its the same screen.

Another question...

You had the non-Bose radio when you bought it right? I have the Bose and will need to buy the non-Bose trim piece.

Thanks.

darrick, thanks for pix.

I had the non-Bose, but it was still a double DIN stereo like the Bose. I had to purchase the GXE trim from Dave B.

is there more gap on the leftside versus the right? on my current double din, that's the problem i'm running into. i tried to bend the metal brackets to get it aligned more but it didn't affect it that much.
