Bass better when i listen to FM??
Bass better when i listen to FM??
I have a Kenwood HU(KDC-9015) and a kenwood EQ. 1 amp for the sub, and 1 for 4 speakers. When i am listening to FM radio, i can feel more bass. While cd is playing, bass is not as hard and loud.
Any ideas??? Do I just have a suckie HU??

I think that is just a quality issue with the FM broadcasts. I have a Kenwood head unit and it does the same thing. I think some of the high end sounds are lost in the quality of radio transmission. Have you noticed that cd's tend to have a better high end sounds and are generally louder? I know I have. I think it is perfectly normal.
FM is typically broadcast at a higher output then a recorded CD is burned. This is why most aftermarket radios have the feature of "SLA"/Sound Level Adjustment or similiar name. This feature is used to bring the "volume" up to the same level as the FM band. This saves you the trouble of turning up/down the volume when switching sources.

Is this a store bought CD or a Burned CD? even the ones that are original cd's produce less bass than FM

Like posted above, and I guess in simpler temrs than what I said..Radio station boost up levels to make it sound louder. Not everyone has a "system" in thier car, but they do have radios.

This is true, HOT 97.1, 103.5 (KTU), 107.5 (WBLS), all have crazy bass when I tune into them. Of course I have a system so I notice it more. Those stations have caused me to turn the bass level control down, whenever I tune into them.
