what would you guys consider your dream system?

im a highschool student with no job and i aint got no money, so my setup is garbage. if i had the money i would get 2 kicker solo barrick l7s and a 1400 watt amp to power them. so who here is happy with their system? and im cuirous to know what you guys think the ultimate system is for your car.
[sorry if this thread sounds gay but i have no hw tonite and i am boredlol]

I too am a broke a$$ highschool student with no job. Given the money, I would definitely go with two 15" Brahma's, dont know what kind of amp, but brahmas would be the subs.

I am a new set of front components away from what I feel is the ultimate setup for my car. And I'm not going to list everything I have.

L7s though?!, can't you guys dream higher than that? They get loud but they are not known for SQ. A Brahma is going to get loud as heck and still sound good.

BTW there is a really good baseball game on...if you're bored.

Though ive already stated my pick, the following I found quite comical. If I were looking to waste money, I might just think about getting one of these. http://www.thezeb.com/p-Audiobahn-AW...fer-100492.htm

I would have 2 DD 9512's, with Focal Polykevlar V2 components front, polykevlar midbass in the rear, and the alpine 9835 or some sexy head unit like that. For amps, I would run some crazy Brax setup.

Mine would be Focal Utopias up front and Focal Coaxials in the back with a RE Audio XXX 10" (I want good strong bass, but not ridiculous). An Autotek 5-channel will power the system. All will be controlled by a Drivesoft in-car pc and an 8" touchscreen. Simple and refined.

Since this is a dream system and money is no object, why not call up Stephen at TC Sounds and have him build something custom based on the TC3HP motor.

My favorite System should consist of:

2 Arc XXK 2500 Amps
1 Arc XXK 4150 Amps
2 Diamond TDX Subs
1 Set Rainbow Components
1 Set Diamond Hex Components
Stinger Expert Wiring
Stinger 3 Farad Cap
Yellow Top Batt
Eclipse Head Unit Flip 7" DVD
2 Head Rest TV's

hold on.....I've got all this already......

Well I only need one more Amp and another TDX and i will be done.

I've seen the pictures of it on other car audio forums. Unfortunately, you have to know someone to get one. There was one bigger sub called "the beast" proposed at the Home Theater Forum. It never got out of the prototype stage though. Same basket except it was 18".

That's the one I was reading about. I need to go back through my Speaker Builder magazine and scan in the advertisment from Tekton. 21" sub with 22mm xmax. The driver by itself weighed almost 100 pounds.

I've purchased subs directly from TC Sounds (through Stephen P) but nothing of that caliber. If my wife wouldn't kill me, I'd try ordering an uber-sub.

When the Tekton was being produced back in the late 80's/early 90's it was over $1,000 and had to be shipped from Europe. It was was one of the first high excursion subs ever. The TC Sounds models are a different story. Since they are really just a build house, we are getting them at a fraction of the cost. Also the more you buy, the cheaper they are. The cost of "The Beast" was going to be around $450-$500 but the guys needed about 50 of them ordered before TC Sounds would start to build them. For a while TC Sounds was selling TC2+ 12" drivers for $99 at one site. I really got lucky with my 15" TC Sounds subs. Stephen (an engineer at TC) built about 50 of them using surplus parts and posted on the Madisound board. Based on their T/S specs they were perfect for an infinite baffle installation. Now that it has cooled off, I'll be installing 4 of them in my attic.

When I got started in this hobby, I wanted it loud at the absolute cheapest price. I wasted more money going that route than I really want to count. Now I'd rather spend the money the first time and get something that is really high quality. Also, my wife has played the piano all of her life and there is no way I'm going to get away with crappy audio.
