if my amp pushes out 200 rms, how could i get the max if its a mono amp?

if my amp pushes out 200 rms, how could i get the max if its a mono amp?

my amp pushes out 200 rms at 4 ohms. now my sub is 400 rms at 2 oms. actually i think its in series so its 4ohms. my ques is how do i get my amp to push its max. i have a sony xplod D amp. and a kicker cvr 12inch 2ohm sub

Is your amp 2ohm stable?

no it is 4ohm stable but the sub has a wire connecting to the positive and neg

If your sub is dual voice coil and each is 2 ohms then you need to series it to make it 4 ohms. The way you would then get the most out of your amp is pump up the Gain until you hear distortion and then turn it down a few. If you have an O Scope it makes it alot easier you would look for clipping.

well i highly recommened turning the bass boost and gain all the way up! jk. is the sub dvc2,dvc4, svc4?

dvc 2 ohm at 400 rms. and my amp is 4ohm stable at 200 rms

just wire the sub to 4 ohms and have some fun. put it in a slightly larger box to boost some low end.
