Upgrade or downgrade?

Yes...I am VERY new at the in car sound thing. I had a question that I figure you all may be able to answer here. I have a 1996 Infiniti I30t with the factory Bose system. I was considering an upgrade...but I'm not sure if the following would be an uppgrade from the Bose or a downgrade from it. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!

Alpine CDA-9827 head
Alpine 6-3/4" Speakers (SPS170A) for rear and doors
Audiobahn 4-Channel amplifier
Single MTX 10" Subwoofer (RT1004) (I don't need too much bump haha)

I figure something along those lines...

Thank you for your help and have a great day!

Should sound nice.

The Bose systems are pretty good for a factory system, but that's not saying much. They use cheap components. Paper cones, bla bla bla. Sooner or later the factory amps go out and you get crappy/no sound.

Alrighty awesome. I just didn't want to have that installed and then have the Bose end up sounding better. Are there any suggestions one would make about what I have picked out? I guess something specific may be would this amp be worth it? I figure I'd hook up the front door speakers and the sub to it...or would it be better off running all of the speakers off of the HU and getting a mono amp for the sub?

for now i'd run just the sub off the amp, and amp the speakers later. or if you're feeling daring, amp the internals with the 4 channel you have and buy a separate amp for the sub.

Hmm well I could ditch the 4 channel, buy a mono sub amp cheaper probably and run the sub from that and then run the speakers with the HU...but would it still sound good?
