I'm having a box built pretty soon, but am not really sure on what I should have the box tuned to. At first, I figured 30Hz would be good, but I've been getting so many suggestions lately...so what do you guys think?

 

i built a 6 cubed ft box tuned to 29hz for a 15'' XXX and it has the best of both worlds in SQ and SPL. Also thats what RE reccomended.

 

my box is around 5 ft^3 tuned to 33hz and its perfect. so IMO anywhere from 35 down to around 27-28 or so you will have a great mix of SQ and SPL

 

hmm...guess i'll stick with 30 Hz...thanks for the inputs!

 

damn hittin hz that low are you guys sure u hittin THAT low, my 15 can't even hit close to that....have ur hz checked hittin hz THAT low would be quaking like crazy. u dun wanna hit that low anyways if u goin for SQ, hittin that low would kill the highs i think them low numbers only for SPL

 

no, people generally tune their box higher for spl. and low for sq. are you absolutely sure your 15 can't hit 30? play a test frequency sweep, i'm sure it can hit at least 30...
