DYnamat vs EDead...which to place a layer of?
So I am going to be basically stripping my car down to nothing when I do my new sounds system this spring, and I have been tossing the idea of placing a layer of sound deadening material down when doing so. I have that Dynamat and EDead are both out there, but have not really heard of anyone running with either setup.
So is there anyone out there running with a sounddeadener? How much of an imporvment did you see?

world of a difference.....5th gens are in much more trouble than 4th gen when it comes to rattling, i seriously am skeptical if deadening can help. our cars rattle EVERYWHERE it's soooo annoying
I have edead, and it did make a noticeable difference for me. I only have it in the front doors, and the mids are much cleaner and more noticeable. Also, the bass is better. 36 bucks shipped and 5 hours of labor later...worth it.
DYNAMAT!!! just get the right stuff, xtreme is the only way to go, i had 2 12 for a few months, super rattles....after putting dynamat on the rear deck and in the trunk, the bass is MUCH more solid, it does require a lot of work, but it was worth it. grab a friend and get to work, buy a hot gun from home depot and return after you use it. ahahah
Thanks for the replies...I think I am going to use edead since I don't want to spend a fortune on this. I am not going to use any in the trunk since I am not going to be using a subwoofer...I am a heavy-metal kind of guy and all the bass can get in the way of the mids/highs that I am really listening for.
Any other opinions would be great!!!

I have Dynamat Extreme in front doors and rear deck. I've had it ever since I installed my system so I can't say if there's a difference or not. I am beginning to notice some rattling so I will add either another layer of dynamat or use Edead V3.
Keep in mind that there are alternatives...I know that there are some "rubber in a can" products which you can use.
I like anything that's liquid because it can get into the nooks and hard to reach places. But if I was doing this from scratch I would first put in a layer of dynamat and then go from there...that's a good base.

I've used MANY deadeners, which you can see in my sig
I say go with Brown Bread or Second Skin for vertical or hanging surfaces
For areas like the trunk floor or floorpan, you can go with liquid/spray or even less sticky deadeners
You dont need to purchase Dynamat. The above that i mentioned stick just fine.
