well i just bought a pioneer deh 6500 off ebay from some ******* who took almost a month to get it to me. anyways he shipped it in its original box with the damn faceplate on the cd player. he had the little box to keep it in just laying in the box, why he didnt put it in there i have no idea. anyways my question is that in the process of shipping one of the pegs that holds it to the actual unit broke. it looks like it is part of the back piece that just screws on the back of the faceplate. i just need to know if i can replace this and where can i get one. was also wondering if i could buy another wiring harness as he cut the wires short as hell.

 

oh yeah and he didnt provide the trim ring so i will need one of those too. it is for a pioneer deh6500 in case i didnt mention that

 

try to get the money back from him. If he doesn't wanna return them, how did you pay? Paypal? Call them up, and say that he shipped the broken unit. They'll start the investigation. If they don't return your money, call up your credit card company, and file that he sold you the broken unit. They will definetely return you your money. How much did you pay for it? And how do you know that the item broke down during the shipping? In any case, it was his responsibility to pack it well.

 

Oh, yeah, the reason I suggested all this is that if you purchase the new faceplate... I think that this HU is gonna cost you more than the brand new item from authorized dealer.

 

i think it was broken during shipping because the faceplate was half way attatched to the unit when it arrived. when i pulled it out and tried to attach it fully it wouldnt and i noticed one of the little plastic pegs was broken. i then looked in the box and found the piece laying on the bottom. it was such a small piece there is no way it could have happened otherwise. it looks like everything else is ok just the back piece to the faceplate which looks like it could be easily replaced, just got to find a new one.

 

Well I hate hearing about bad stories from Ebay. It is already risky enough. Although I have yet to have a bad experience.

 

damn man, i have that same HU and i love it, did you email the guy and b*tch him out?? tell ebay, they should make it so he can never sell anything again.. look around on the internet for places that sell faceplates...try calling pioneer directly, maybe they can help you..

 

well i emailed the guy and he's sending the trimring and i already ordered the other piece $20. the guy seems like a moron but i was surprised when he emailed me this morning saying he would send the trimring. i think i am just not gonna leave any feedback at all and call it done. i just went ahead and bought the 6600 today and will probably sell the 6500 to get my money back. i think i like the 6600 display better than the 6500 anyways.

 

I bought a 6600 too 2 weeks ago for $270 (out the door) at Best Buy. Found out a few days later that Don sells the Premier counterpart for $240 shipped. I didn't want to go thru the hassles of uninstalling the radio, boxing it up, and returning it to Best Buy. It'll take them 18 days to get me my money back. Then there's the hassle of installing the new headunit after. The Premier 660 has the same exact features as the P6600...go figure!
