How do Elemental Design subs compare to other brands?

Im in the market for a small sub and I have heard some good things about Elemental Designs. I was wondering how do they compare to some mainstream brands like Infinity, Alpine, Kenwood, JL, etc... Also, if anyone has ED subs, how do you like them?

I also have a quick amp question, I read on an Ebay auction that the MTX 4122 can be bridged for 200 watts at 4 ohms. Is that 200 watts the max. power or RMS?

Any help is appreciated...

-Ben

Elemental designs is awesome...it all depends what series ED subs you are talking about. I would definitely compare their top of the line ones (e12a) to Alpine and JL, but then again Alpine Type R's have probs with cone separation and stuff. But yes, youll be happy with ED if you choose to buy their stuff.

Mtx claims that its 200 watts RMS mono at 14.4 volts....I doubt youll get that much power out of it. Better off getting a bigger amp and keeping the gains down, youll have less distortion and be much better off.

i'm running one 8" eD. the one before the current line-up with the name change. i didn't test them out or anything before the purchase; just relied solely on .org recommendations. and i've been very happy with the sound quality.

I've ownd the 12" and 15" ED flat cones (built by TC sounds). Great sub. The new Kv2 line looks impressive for the price.
