Hi guys, I'm interested in buying a portable navigation system.
Maybe some of you have them. If so, which model to you have and what cons and pros it has.
Pictures of installs would be awesome.

Also, is a portable navigation any good for cars?

Garmin and Magellan are some of the well known brands. i would get Garmin Streetpilot if i wasn't so worried about someone stealing it.

You can easily take it off if you are in a bad area. I like the ones that are on suction cups rather then the ones that you have to stick on.
Why would you want Streetpilot and not this one for example http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...742273582&rd=1

I don't know anything about navis, so anything is helpful

Go to CNET or ZDNET or Epinions and read the reviews, then make your choice, shop around and buy.
