2 way pager alarm question?

I am looking into getting a new 2way pager alarm and was wondering if anyone on here has one? I put this in the 4th gen forum because i wanted to kno if anyone of you have installed this on your cars yourself and if so if you could tell me how hard it is to do or could do a lil writeup for me.[every car is diff and i was wondering how it was on the 95-99s] Also does anyone kno if you can add this onto an existing auto start. Please let me kno anything at all -it will help me out a lot thanks

I have the Viper 791xv got installed with prox. sensor from Don (Pearl96max) one of the best around for $550... it is a GREAT alarm and I highly recommend it. It alerts you (the pager does) if the alarm is going off. It has different zones which you can monitor, also has remote start, and all the other goodies.

I have the Viper 750 and have had it for about a year and ahalf and it is a very good alarm. Never had a problem with it and always paged when the alarm went off. If you do get one make sure you don't get the remote wet because last spring break I went to Panama city and spilled a little beer on it and it was over and I had to buy another remote which are about $100.

If I were you I'd rip out your existing remote start and start from the beginning. Most 2 way pager/alarm/remote start combos will tell you when the car has sucessfully started. I have an Omega Max-e w/Echo and I've had it for 6 months and have had no problems with. It tells me which zone has been tampered with, tells me when my car has successfully started, and it has a clock on it!!! Even if your out of range with mine it will tell me if my car has been tampered with once I get within range.

I got mine off of ebay $160 shipped and I installed it myself.

I just got a DEI Python 881XP. So far no problems. It has auto-start, 5 channels (trunk release, window rollers, etc.). It pages you when the alarm goes off, and confirms that the car started. Works about 1/4 mile away, maybe a little more. I surprise people when i start my car from like the back of their house. Install wasn't that hard. Had my friend do it, he works at a car stereo/alarm shop. Sat with him while he did it. If you are good with electronics it shouldnt be that hard to install.
