speaker gauge wire

speaker gauge wire

on a set of components(for the door speaker) does it make a difference on sound if you 12 gauge or 16 guage speaker wire

That depends on how far you want to go with your system. 99.9% of people wont notice a difference, including me most of the time, and running new speaker wire into the front door on your car means drilling a hole near the grommet, its pure suicide, but its up to you.

damn i wouldnt use 12 for comps... my cdt mids and xovers would have a hard time holding 12. i used 18 and its fine. stock wiring is fine for the power your gonna send them anyway.

i'd just go with 16. my the only 12 gauge i have in my stereo is the wiring on my sub.

What do you mean by hold it? The wire or the power?

I've got quite a bit of 12ga from the amp wiring kits I got from knuconceptz, so I thought I would use it to go to the x-overs then use some 16ga I got to go to the mids and tweets.

This OK?

its fine. but the screws and the hole is so small on MY xovers that it would be tough to fit in. but im sure you can make it fit easily on yours if you want.

Yeah it should fit fine. I don't think anything bigger than 12ga would fit though (not that you'd need that anyway )
