Anyone know how to program the Viper 850xv to allow for passive arming or do you need to take it to an installer. Also when it was installed I have to hit the unlock button twice...the first time disarms the alarm...the second time unlocks the doors, is there any way to change it to one pulse disarmng and unlocking. And adjust to allow for passive arming.
System Features Learn Routine:
1) Open a door
2) Turn the ignition on, then back off
3) Press and hold the valet switch. After 3 seconds it will chirp once, meaning you are in Menu 1. If this is the menu you need, go to Step 4. If not, keep holding the valet button until it chirps the number of times of the menu you need, then release.
4) Press and release the valet switch the number of times corresponding to the feature you want to change. Then press the switch once more and hold it, and the alarm will chirp equal to the number of times equal to the number of the step you have accessed.
5) While holding the valet button, toggle the feature on and off using the transmitter. Lock will select the one-chirp setting, and unlock will select the two-chirp setting.
6) Release the valet switch.
It will automatically exit the learn routine ifthe open door is closed, the ignition is turned on, there is noactivity for 15 seconds or more, or if the valet button is pressed too many times.
Menu #1 Feature #1:
1 chirp setting: active arming
2 chirp setting: passive arming
If untouched, it will be set for active arming from the factory
Menu #1 Feature #4:
1 chirp setting: active locking only
2 chirp setting: passive locking
This will be set to active locking only from the factory
Im not sure if this is all you need, but it should at least get part of what you wanted accomplished. This is all in your manual, which I am guessing you lost? If you have trouble, the shop you got it installed shouldnt charge you to do it, it should only take them a minute or so.
